Our Story
How Reach Girls Began
Reach Girls is a community-based organization founded by girls themselves in 2017 in Salima District, Malawi. The organization was created after a group of young girls recognized the many challenges that adolescent girls and young women face in their communities.
These challenges include limited access to education, poor menstrual hygiene, early and forced child marriages, gender-based violence, and lack of economic opportunities.
Motivated by the desire to create change, these girls came together with a shared vision of empowering other girls to overcome these barriers and build better futures.
What Drives Us?
Reach Girls believes that every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and live a life free from limitations.
Our work focuses on addressing the barriers that prevent girls from reaching their full potential by promoting education, improving menstrual hygiene, advocating against harmful practices such as child marriage, preventing gender-based violence, and creating economic opportunities for young women and single mothers.
